Post-Grad Resources…

Well, I suppose a few of you are graduating soon, and many of you have asked me about options to consider after graduating or even ways to find good churches to join in other cities… so here’s just a few ideas to toy with…

But first, let me say this… remember that God is more concerned about your commitment to building into His kingdom than He is about your commitment to a paycheck, a career, or a mate… the ultimate decision is not where you should live, who you should marry, or what job you should take- but rather, whom will you serve? Will you adjust your life to accomplish the mission- or will you adjust the mission to accommodate your life?

Once you’ve decided why you’re here, then you can find freedom to make the decisions necessary to support that purpose.  For some of y’all, what you’re going to need most after college is more biblical education; for others it’s going to be better training and equipping; for some, you’ll need different cultural exposures and opportunities, etc… Wherever you might be, here’s a few options and resources that might help you…

Post-Graduate Training Programs:

Some of these are free, others are not.  Some allow you to work a full-time job and do the program on the side, others do not.  Some are programs run by churches, while others are full-time professional institutions.  But these are just a few of the unique opportunities that are out there to help further equip you for ministry.

Church Location Services:

Now obviously you need to know what kind of church you’re looking for, or else on some of the sites you might end up with some ganked up church that you have no business being a part of- so if you need specific help or some possible recommendations concerning a certain city, feel free to e-mail and I’ll see if I can help; but otherwise, you’ll definitely want to look for churches that are doctrinally sound, mission-focused, morally pure, and Christ-exalting.  If you’re unsure of what any of those terms mean, then please contact me before you join whatever church you’re looking at!

Missions Opportunities: (i.e. – missions training, short-term, long-term, or stints)

Some Cool Churches That College Life is Linked With:

Again, these are just the ones that former College-Lifer’s are now pastoring, or churches that we are at least closely linked with.  If you’re moving to a city that’s not mentioned above, and need some help finding a solid church, let me know.

Note: In the coming days, I’ll be posting some information about Denton, TX that will blow your circuits.  For some of y’all, it may challenge you to stay in a city that you already didn’t want to be in to begin with! (for others of you, it may be all the more reinforcement you need to leave).  But I, in particular, am extremely excited about what is about to happen to our beloved city- and the ripe potential for ministry that is going to come with the changes!

In the meantime, if you have any questions about anything I’ve posted above, let me know!
