Missional Opportunity III
Here’s another opportunity that some of y’all might want to consider in order to help build a bridge to our campus and get to know some folks in the process…
[Please note that this event does conflict with the Denton Bible Men's Conference, so some may not be able to go- but for others, this may be an opportunity you can take advantage of]
UNT Beautification Day is set and we need volunteers! The event will be taking place on March 31st from 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon. This event is designed to help build community between students, faculty and staff by engaging groups in service projects to beautify the campus. Dr. Bataille, the President of UNT, and many other prominent university officials will be contributing their time as well. This is an excellent way to meet students from across the campus, contribute valuable service to UNT and eat great food. There will be a cookout immediately following the service activities. If you or members of your organization are interested in volunteering for UNT Beautification Day, please send me the following information for each person:
- First and Last Name
- E-mail address
- Phone number
- Indicate whether or not you are a UNT student, faculty member, or staff
- Indicate your top 3 project preferences (the options are listed below)
2007 projects will include:
I. Bed Preparation
Prep/planting flower bed (various locations on campus & research park)
II. EESAT Building
Cleaning out around the pond, & planting of a Butterfly Garden
III. Painting Projects
Railings in need across campus, etc.
IV. Spreading Mulch
Tree islands in various lots, SW COBA bldg., tree grove, etc.
V. Fry Street
General clean up
VI. Litter Pick Up
Across campus [if we have a great turn out and have the manpower to do it]
Once you submit your information, you will recive a confirmation e-mail from our office with your assigned location. You are also more than welcome to stop by the Volunteer Center in the University Union room 430 to sign-up as well. Whatever method is the most convenient for you is great for us.
